Back from Infocomm....

Family_Of_Products

Last week was Educomm and Infocomm, and I spent every day from early morning until late at night in press conferences, meetings, receptions, dinners and the like. It was product overload! A great conference but a bit overwhelming, with 30,000 people attending and all. Overall, in ed tech I'd say it was more of an evolutionary show than a revolutionary one, lots of developments of existing products, new features, tweaks and enhancements. Casio debuted a new family of projectors, for example (pictured), including LED and short throw models. A lot of talk about 3D in the classroom, but time will tell if this is a fad or something lasting and genuine...

Take Part in SIIA's Vision K20 Survey

One of the things I discussed at the SIIA Ed Tech Industry Summit in San Francisco last week was the association's new Vision Survey. It's a tool administrators can use "to check their organization's progress towards the SIIA Vision," which is "a vision to ensure that all students have access to a teaching and learning environment capable of preparing them to compete globally and lead the world in innovation."

Take the survey and check it out!
