For all you CTOs out there... The Consortium for School Networking (CoSN) yesterday re-launched its Web site with a revamped structure and new tools and features. The site was redesigned in an effort to maximize interactivity, accessibility and value for school district technology leaders and others interested in learning more about the association’s initiatives and advocacy efforts. The press release continued...
Hitachi announced the release of this new model, the CP-A52, on Friday, which they claim completes the trifecta of short throw offerings: "good/better/best." This is the "good" end, with the CP-A100 and ED-A100 fulfilling the "better" and "best" roles, respectively. There doesn't appear to be a huge amount of difference between these models, the CP-A52 is a 3LCD, 2,000 lumens, XGA resolution model, just 500 lumens less than the "best" model, and apparently doesn't offer the same level of networking capability. But, these minor differences shave $700 off the MSRP, coming in at $2295 (not in stock yet, but listed at $1495 on Amazon). This certainly makes the CP-A52 one of the least expensive short-throws around. And as with most short-throw models, these are perfect for interactive whiteboards like Hitachi's StarBoard FXDuo, or just using as a plain old vanilla projector, but up close and personal to the screen.
